Manage people in your places

Open a person in the Admin Workspace, assign, change, or remove a role at one of your places, and invite someone with a role.

Assign, change, or remove a role

In the Admin Workspace, the Identities entry under Access Control is the operational view: everyone in the places you administer, in the Environment selected in the switcher, and the roles they hold there. It is a different page from the Account-wide directory, which lists everyone in the Account.

  • workspace_identity.view Read the people in your part of the organization: who is there, what roles they hold, and whether they are active.
Context

Assign, change, or remove a role
Open Identities from the left nav under Access Control and click a person's row. The Identity details drawer opens. In Role Assignments, a person with none reads No roles at your places. Click Add Role Assignment, choose the role and the place, and click Assign. A Role assigned. toast appears and the role is listed. On a role's row, the pen icon (Change role) opens the change dialog; pick the new role and click Save Changes. A Role updated. toast appears. The circled-x icon (Remove role) asks for confirmation; click Remove. A Role removed. toast appears and the section returns to No roles at your places.

Invite someone with a role

An invitation from this page carries a role at one of your places, so the person arrives with their access already in place.

Invite someone with a role
Click Invite Identity in the page header. Enter the email, first name, and last name, choose the role and the place, and click Send Invite. An Invitation sent to … toast appears. The invitation is tracked on Invitations, where it can be resent or revoked until it is accepted.
If you don't see this

Each control on this page exists only for someone who may use it. When something described above is missing, one of these is why:

Identities is not under Access Control in the left nav. Reading the people in your places needs workspace_identity.view in the selected Environment. An owner, or anyone holding workspace.administer_all, has it everywhere without an assignment. There is no Add Role Assignment, and the pen and circled-x icons are absent. Granting roles needs access.assign at that place.A person you expect is missing. You see only the people in the places you administer, in the Environment selected in the switcher. Switch Environment, or look in the Account-wide directory.Invite Identity is missing. Inviting needs workspace_identity.invite.
