Reset a member's multi-factor authentication

POST

/api/v1/organizations/{id}/members/{identityId}/mfa/reset

The organization's own administrator, or the developer, clears a member's multi-factor enrolment: every factor and the recovery codes, held once per identity, and the devices trusted in this Environment, so the person enrols afresh at their next sign-in. For a member who lost their authenticator. Sessions already open are left alone. Audited as identity.mfa.admin.forced_reset. Returns 404 when the identity is not a member. Responds 204 No Content; requires hierarchy.manage or canopy:organization.manage at the organization.
