Activity

What has happened recently in the places you administer: who did it, to whom, and when.

Overview

Administration leaves a trail. Roles given, changed, and removed; invitations sent, resent, revoked, and accepted. Those seven things are what the log records, and they are the seven things administrators do to each other's work, so the feed reads as a history rather than as noise.

Reading activity is its own capability. An administrator can be able to change things without being able to review what others changed, and the other way round.

What an entry shows

Each entry records the action and its participants.

What happened, written as a sentence naming both people rather than as a system code.Who did it, and who it was done to. Opening an entry opens that person or that invitation, read-only.When, and, once your places are more than one, where in your organization it happened. If the person an entry refers to is no longer somewhere you administer, the entry stays but their details are withheld, because the record is yours to read and they are not yours to look at.

Narrowed to your responsibility

The log is filtered to your part of the organization before you see it, not after. Two administrators reading activity in the same account read different lists, and neither is missing anything they are entitled to. It is also deliberately not the whole audit trail: technical changes, and the granting of authority to administrators themselves, are recorded account-wide under a different capability that is not reached from here.

How long it is kept, and taking it with you

Activity is kept for a fixed period, and the page tells you what that period is for your account. Anything older is gone rather than hidden, so an export is the way to keep a copy.

An export covers the most recent events up to a limit. If the file is truncated, narrow the dates and export again rather than assuming the rest is missing.

Next Step

Every action in the log traces back to a capability someone holds. What administrators can do lists all of them.
