Verify one of the organization's domains

POST/portal/v1/accounts/{accountSlug}/applications/{appSlug}/environments/{envSlug}/organizations/{id}/domains/{domain}/verify

Resolves the domain's DNS TXT record and, if it carries this claim's token, flips the claim to verified. A verified domain is exclusive to one organization per Environment; the same domain may be verified again in another Environment. Returns 400 when the record is missing or the token does not match (the claim is marked failed), 404 when the organization holds no such claim, and 409 when another organization in the Environment already verified it. Rate-limited to 10 requests per minute; emits sso.domain.verified or sso.domain.verification_failed.

Authentication

Bearer TokenAuthorization

JWT access token. Never send alongside X-API-Key: a request carrying both is refused.

Requires capability env_organizations.manageDeveloper Console

Switch the organizations container on and off and create, rename, and delete organizations. Granted through an administrator role in the Admin Workspace; a valid token without it is refused with 403.

The Account's slug. An unknown one answers 404.

appSlugstring Required

Errors

When the request can't be completed, the response body includes a stable error code you can branch on, and a correlation_id (also sent as the X-Correlation-Id header). Quote the correlation id when you contact support: it identifies the exact request in Canopy's logs.

403account.capability_requiredForbidden
When it happens

The signed-in user's administrator roles do not grant the capability this endpoint requires.

Remediation

Ask an account administrator to grant a role carrying the capability named in the Authentication section, then retry.

Rate limit

10 requests per 1mPer caller: the signed-in user for a bearer token; for an API key, the key and the end user's address when a backend forwards it, otherwise the client address
